Anything bigger wouldn't work for me, electrical system in the pickup won't handle it and I don't want to screw around up sizing the alternator. I also don't want some **** class-c amp either, there seems to be plenty of them around. Is anybody using the new rf power mosfets in'em? MeatSack...---... Skywarn-NTS Is that 500 watts PEP or 500 watts carrier (2000 watts PEP for AM)? that would be 500 watts pep. MOSFETS work good at 28 volts. Until the new type car electrical systems are installed in the vehicles, stick with bipolar transistors. I think the new systems are going to be 42 to 48 volts last I read in the trade magazines. Until then we'll have hybrids. The battery systems on those are claimed to run at 300 volts. You get enough juice out of the battery pack to run a 50Hp or larger electric motor, you have to think about what else you could do with a power source like that. Anybody have any plans to try something using the hybrid vehicle battery system? MeatSack...---... Skywarn-NTS |
