Both the UK and America need more "home grown" products, but the problem is that the public buy the cheapest. That will always involve mass produced imports rather than quality. A small "business", with sales which do not cover minimum wage for one single person, does NOT "keep people working". It certainly does not make a dent in the level of imports. Once again, he appears to have chosen to start "producing" an item where the market is saturated. Existing products are cheaper and made by known large companies, who already have well established routes to market. Unless Grifter Man gets some desire to make it a real business, then forget any idea of him fixing the economy. Considering the years he has been running "Telstar", with the turnover still being so small, I just don't believe he ever wants more than just a bit of pocket money. Otherwise he would have done the market research first. Regards, Peter. |

Scott KC8LDO Leland, I was fortunate enough to get a large order for my VoiceMax product from the University of California (San Diego) over the summer that kept me really busy on the weekends... but business in the past few months is way down. The economy is really bad as you well know. I think it'll be getting much worse... before it improves. I'm just hoping my day job holds out. They have fired 70% of the workforce where I work right now. Things are looking grim. I hope you and your family have a nice holiday! |

You know one thing that really ****es me off are companies that hire people on H-1B and L visas then let go their American work force because the visa holders work cheaper. So I was thinking, while watching the talking heads on cable news tonight, with all of the money being handed out in bail-outs and bridge-loans to save American jobs really have Americans working at those same jobs? And for those that are getting fired or laid off are the temporary workers, visa holders, the first to go? http://www.fairus.org/site/PageServe...ecentersbdb 4 http://hireamericansfirst.org/default.aspx http://www.zazona.com/ShameH1B/H1BLegal.htm Take care and hang in there. -- Regards, Leland C. Scott KC8LDO Yes, don't get me started on this saving money thing. The reason we have lost 70% of our workforce is becuase all our electronics (4 million+ units) is now being made in China at the Foxconn facility. They are finding out that the savings promised by upper management... and consultants have not come to fruition yet. I feel that they may never get the promised savings... and they have lost many advantages of manufacturing in our facility. All I do now is attempt to solve issues with the chinamen via email all day... lol |
