54 MHz is channel 2, which gets the most interference from multiple offenders. ....And a lot of early cable companies that used "slider boxes" had them tuned originally to Ch 2. By the time it became apparent that Chs 2 and 5 were the most succeptable to an attack by the Tennessee Valley Indians, the VCR was becoming affordable, and by the time the CB boom died in the early 80's, you saw VCR decks being able to switch their output between Ch 3 and Ch 4. By the late 90's, it was pretty much Ch 3 as TVs started supporting RCA composite, which was pretty much interference proof against CB. I honestly can't recall the last time I saw TVI other than satellite reciever dropout due to bad WX or a goddamn bird deciding to roost on the feeder horn. I've got an old Midland 4W WT that I used to test for TVI, and couldn't get my current setup to frack up at point blank range due to the direct connects and avoiding using the cable hookup. ....Still, one can't help but wonder if someone running a footwarmer can cause bandwidth issues with a cable modem. I can see the Inbreds now: "Goddammit! Them goddamn Hams and their radios! I used to be able to download 20-30 porno flicks a day, but since that ****ing Ham set up his rig across the street, every time he keys his mike my cable modem goes offline, or gets slower, or my porn suddenly becomes fag flicks! It's all his fault! He's probably giving me computer viruses too! *******! I'm gonna cut down his antenna and shove it up his ass, that's what I'm gonna do!"
