completely disabling AGC in Cobra 142 CB?

I have a need to completely disable the AGC circuit in a Cobra 142 GTL CB.
How would this be done please?

Don't complain when your meter doesn't work anymore and close
signals are not understandable. Why would you possibly want
to do this?
