This is really funny....I guess the poor guy has never seen a vacuum tube or
a paper filter cap.

What's funny is Frank's early week sobriety. Friday he claimed he didn't
care about hammie radio at all and had no interest in such. Monday
morning finds him desperately selecting personal arguments concerning
hammie laws, and Tuesday finds him perusing used gear ads for his
non-interests.

Too bad it isn't a Stancor choke, it might be worth bidding on.

Stancor, Thor, Triad, UTC... they all do the same job.

I meant more worth while bidding on than the tube.

Do you have a good tube source, Frank?

Depends on what kind of tube you are looking for. The station gets their big
tubes directly from the manufacturer. For standard consumer tubes, I don't like
buying them mail-order because they cost too much, and many times are used (low
emission) and the pins are just buffed up to make them look new. I highly
recommend getting a tube tester and start hoarding them from wherever you can
find them, usually at garage sales and thrift shops. A couple months ago I went
to a yard sale and got an old reel-2-reel that they just gave away because it
was old and ugly. Inside were a half-dozen Telefunken 12AX7s and several other
goodies. The tubes are out there, you just have to know how they are packaged.

Good advice. Lucky for me I have two friends who do just that, but
you never know when you'll need to find another supply.

These guys are a real trip. If you ever need something, let me know
and I'll see.
