Hello,

I bought a pair of above FRS in US and using it in an Asian country.
Catalogue says it can be used for 6 miles but when I checked the range
it was not more than a mile. Has anyone used a 6 mile range FRS and
what is the actual range that works. Are these manufacturer’s
lying us or have I got something messed-up.

I would say that you are getting typical distance from the radios.

I have gotten longer range on FRS, but I was on a filled in lake bed that
was flat for a few hundred thousand acres. I didn't go out 5 or 6 miles to
test it, but I would guess the range might extend that far in that
terrain. You have not got somethinge messed up, and you are getting typical
distance for the radios in normal terrain and conditions.
