Gary Schafer wrote: Sorry to report that I can't find them! I thought I had several small drawers with CB crystals of various frequencies. They may be around here somewhere. I spent about an hour looking for them but no luck. Try your local CB shop and see... there are a lot of them out there. Ask around at a nearby truckstop and they'll tell you who does that stuff. Most of those guys probably have an old 23 channel solid state rig in the parts bin somewhere that they'll give you to cannibalize for crystals. --scott Possibly, but sometime around the great trucker phenomenon, the crystal manufacturers weren't able to keep up with the demand for CB crystals, and so the synthesized 23 channel CB was born. You will need to find a CB that was built earlier than about 1975. I haven't seen a "local CB shop" since about 1975. I must hang out in the wrong circles. I wasn't aware that anyone tried to make a living fixing CB's anymore. -Chuck Harris |
