I know most of the lite beers taste like seltzer water, maybe I'll pick some up for the weekend. Try some Guinness Stout. Forget that American stuff. Best regards from Rochester, NY Jim were you drinking guiness when you made the claim about MUF?? MUF is generally meant a generalized maximum usable frequency which will support propogation between two point on the globe. There also exists a minimum frequency based upon effective radiated power, below which the signal will not be received. Above the maximum, the signal will not be reflected. Sporadic e occurs when ionized clouds form. These can be quite small or fairly extensive. If not very extensive, they may support only one hop and, being much closer to the earth than the f layer, will not support multiple hops (they can, however, if extensive enough). If you read the 'guesstimate' on the MUF between two places, it may be on the order of 18 MHz, yet, if sporadic e forms, you may be able to communicate on 12, 11, 10, or even 6 meters - despite the fact they are all well above the 'muf'. Of course, as one goes higher in frequency, troposperic ducting comes into play. One may well communicate thousands of miles on 440 MHz, yet one wouldn't call that the 'muf'. There is more information available now than there was in the 50s ;) Best regards from Rochester, NY Jim --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Try some other examples of either style. or try http://www.beeradvocate.com/ and learn about the real beer. Been to that site, very good info. Taste of beer varies on individual, so have you ever had Anchor Steam? Celebration Ale? Liberty Ale? I thought it was unique for sure, but it was not even close to the best beer I have had. Well, in my opinion :) That said, I would buy another 6 pack the next time I ran across some. I personally like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Costal Fog Ale is a close second. The best beer I had was while traveling Europe, in Germany of course (I was there during October Fest 1989). I actually has some pretty good beers in Italy too, mostly Lagers to which I'm fond of too. Landshark -- Hard things are put in our way, not to stop us, but to call out our courage and strength. |
