Solution found for Silverado "swivel" mount antenna....

I just bought a new Jetta TDI instead:-) I got to thinkin', before I dump
a lot of time in this antenna idea, why am I driving a 17mpg vehicle around
when I could be getting 48mpg with a diesel:-). I'm eventually going to
sell the truck too. Never thought I would, it's SUCH a great truck but I
really don't need it. I'm just wasting gas. Primarily, I bought it to
travel to accounts and take machinery back and forth....but with the price
of freight, I just have people ship it instead.

We already have a SUV that's perfectly capable of pulling our boats out of
the water and into the garages at our lake house.

I pick it up this Friday and will install the 2510 and wilson over the
weekend.

Maybe Dr DX can give me a radio check in FLA :-)

Pennsboro PA to St.Pete FL? Sure. Happens every day. Let me know when you
get it and we'll set up a time.

You have any significant storm damage there? I may not agree with some of
the things people believe in or do on this group but I hate to see anybody
loose their home for whatever reason.

I'm in Saint Petersburg across the bay from Tampa. We didn't get anything at
all from Charlie aside from gray sky. We get worse weather on our normal
days. It rains here once a day for about 20 min. at almost the same time
every day (set your watch by it) and it's always thunderstorms. Vicious ones
at that. I think Charlie's outer bands gave us a little break.

Punta Gorda is a shambles. I really feel for them.

The Tampa Bay area wasn't hit too bad.....but get JUST outside our area
to the south across the big bridge, and damage starts becoming apparent.
If that thing would have hit Tampa Bay I am without a doubt it would
have made Andrew and Hugo look weak by comparison.

Hello Dr. X. Thanks for the contact last night! You sounded good for
being way down the other end of the county in between a couple of
warehouses in a mobile. I had the dx just starting to run when we made
contact. Maryland came in and then conditions got weird..I was listening
to a guy in Palm Beach talking to a guy in Sarasota. The guy in Palm
Beach was loud and proud while the Sarasota signal didn't budge my
needle,,,nuthin' but audio.

Hey Twist, if you look at the thread nad wasn't
responding to you. I have now sent him four emails
at to -exactly- where I'll be staying this weekend
in Madison heights.

Nad is so flustered now that he has dogie emailing
me asking me for a truce. lol

Hey Twisted. I was surprised I was able to make it. I could barely hear you.
I was in an industrial area outside my office where I was trying to
resurrect a server. I almost missed you. Glad we connected.

Yeah, them conditions were weird all day. Earlier I heard a guy in Venezuela
talking to someone in France. The ionosphere must be sideways lately.

catch ya later
