Default Radio Tuning?

Where should I send a radio if I want to get it tuned for peak performance?
Thanks.

The manufacturer?

Seriously, WHY? You're only going to see 1-2dB gain maximum (more likely
1dB) from this rather dubious "peak and tweak".. Better feedline, or a
better antenna will get you that, plus it applies to any radio you use, not
just that one.

Peak and Tune is allot of Bull****, just a sucker fad.
Usually it screws up the radio, if you need more distance, get a amp.

Way back when (when disco was new..) I worked in a 2-way shop, and I was
able to get up to 5W out of the new (at that time) 4W rigs. Done right,
it's a marginal if mostly un-noticable improvement. Done wrong, the harmonic
output goes way up, the output transistors get hotter than they should, and
it's just a mess.

Spend the same money on the antenna!

its a legitimate question though the good ant is always a plus. as with
ham rigs, places like a&e provide a service to keep the rigs on freq
etc. for cheaper pieces of equipment like cb's there are quite a few
posters here asking basically the same thing. tuning for peak
performance doesn't necessarily mean more watts.
