Antenna cable question.

Hi
Cable in my mag antenna is too short.
Can I cut it in the middle and add some extension using isolating tape?
if yes, can I use any cable or has to be exactly the same as on antenna?
thanks
jazu

ITs best to get a 'barrel connector' and another piece of coax with
connectors on both ends to lengthen the cable.

Just get a piece of 50 ohm coax with pl connectors on both ends and connect
it to you antenna with a barrel connector.

Actually, it's best to replace the whole coax... no connections
in the middle. But, if that is not viable, the barrel connector
is certainly preferred to other options.

The idea of insulation tape is NOT a good one, too many possible
problems could result from it.

Peter.
