My beloved Cardinals of course! Congrats! I must admit, the better team won. But, enjoy this year. Next year, we will be in your place. :-) Oh and kick the Sox's ass whilst yore at it. :) hey now. lets go sox. i want to see that monkey off their backs. They went on my **** list after the Manny Ramirez deal...baseball needs a salary cap like the NFL has. through the course of history all teams have made crap decisions regarding players. sox are no different. Yep, they tried to dump his bloated salary..no takers. there is a sort of cap in mlb where the owners pay a luxury tax over a certain dollar amount in yearly salaries. george could give a crap about the tax as he has his ship yards and if that goes belly up then all he has to do is cry to the federal govt and they'll bail him out. Soft cap doesn't work if it doesn't stop Stienspender from running his payroll over $200 million. How much will he give Carlos Beltran now? Consensus here is that Drayton Mclane BETTER keep Beltran here, even if he has to sell his kids and wife! :-) Really though, if the Astros let him leave, Mclane deserves to be run out of town like we did to the Oilers and their fat, pompous owner and that toupee that ate his head. I thought the same thing when Manny Ramirez was here, the Tribe offered him $120 million and Boston out bid them...rediculous! Good luck, Beltran is the real deal. |

Brings back memories of Bidwell and the Cards. I became a die hard Chiefs fan. Unfortunately they are dwelling the cellar this year :( |

Hey Randy, did you sign the petition yet? Sounds like Beltran is looking to cash in big time. $200 million is the figure that's rumored. Here's the petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/CBeltran/petition.html |
