It's a mobile army surplus antenna, this one is a little more
advanced... http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=170530 http://community-2.webtv.net/DEMEM/L...mes/page2.html |

Remote-control switched tuning from 30 to 75 MHz. It won't tune down to 27 MHz, but it could be modified to do so with a few component changes. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= East/West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |

Might make a better 6 meter antenna? Just speculating. |
No that antenna will work just fine, all it needs a two element matching
circuit. The shorter antennas have matching circuits. Antennas from 2 feet to 22 feet have been matched no sweat. A 9 foot 1/4 wavelength antenna is used for its close impedance to 50 ohms not because of its length is magic. We use to buy the old Surplus Army Tank Antennas for the channel X wars in the San Fernando Valley. We won of course. They were about 13 or 17 feet long. We just made a quick matching circuit from the ARRL Handbook. And it looked great! All tho some of the normal people didn't like its looks, but that made it better. The remote control would be too much of a pain to wire for a CB, so I would just rip out the guts and put in a simple L-pad and SWR coupler. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= East/West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |
