What is the real output of a Texas Star DX 400V amplifier with 4 watts in?
Since truth in advertising does not seem to exist among CB amplifier manufacturers, what is the real RMS output of a Texas Star DX 400V with 4 watts in and a 12 volt regulated supply? The ad on the TexasStar website says the amp has 4 Toshiba 2sc2879 transistors. The Toshiba datasheet says those transistors are rated at 100 watts PEP each. Anyone out there actually own one and have something more accurate than a lDosey meter or a screw drivered Bird? Lastly is the audio clear on sideband, or does it get scratchy and crackly like so many other amps? -Terra Dactyl |
