Write to the FCC at

Federal Communications Commission
EB, ARS
1270 Fairfield Road
Gettysburg, PA 17325

Make sure to include your full name and address, they'll get back to
you about getting that radio modified.

No they don't. They also don't have echo and "feedback effects."

I very surprised that the FCC allows them to be type accepted. Yes I
know that ham equipment doesn't have to be type accepted to be used on
ham bands but it DOES need to be type accepted to be commercially sold.

I hate echo. I simple roger beep doesn't bother me.

The Chinese might assemble them... but they are engineered here in
Chicago.

You can thank labor unions for that...and most other "Made in China"
products.

I have to agree. I think the idea of unions was to protect abused workers from
low pay and long ours. Since the beginning, the pendulum has swung way in favor
of unions. The biggest thing I see is plants closing down in urban areas, and
moving to cheaper rural areas. And then from there, just overseas. I would wish
they would find a middle ground, where they can both be happy. I am not against
unions, but I have seen some friends lose lifetime jobs in plants, where they
where making $25 per hour, and the plant closed and moved to NC, and hired
workers at $8-10. Now, they can't find any work for unless it's $10-15.

$10/hour is MUCH better than 0$/hour!
