Tramp your way around the Pacific NW instead. Start in Coeur D'Alene and take a riverboat ride up the St. Joe and play a couple rounds of golf on the floating green. If you leave early then you can get to Spokane in time for Hoopfest (http://www.hoopfest.org/). Then head West and catch a concert at the Gorge Amphitheatre. Move on to Puget Sound for some awesome fishing, spend the next day on a drive up the Olympic Mountains (something you can never imagine until you see them firsthand), head back for a day browsing on the piers including the Old Curiosity Shop where they have a couple mummies and lots of other oddities. Eat at the rotating restaurant on the Space Needle and see a great view of the most dangerous volcano in the US (Mt. Rainier), visit a couple excellent breweries, etc. When you get bored with the big city just head South on I-5 for some small-town life in the Willamette Valley, like the Timber Carnival (lumberjack stuff like tree-topping, log-throwing, etc), and chill at the evening concerts in Monteith Park in Albany where you can hear some big names in Jazz. Of course if you like hot swamps and alligators that's fine, too. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |

We'll keep your list of ideas of places to go in mind tho.. haven't done some of them... Yeah, but it's fun talking about it. Most people think there's nothing up here but a bunch of trees and it rains all the time. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |

But not a big game fish, something that will keep you busy catching them even if they are ones you toss back.. Probably around September, watched a couple of shows about "bone fish" They are an inland fish, right? - Mostly shallow water, yea. The Keys or Islamorda is where you want to go for Bonefish, although in September you will need to make reservations ahead of time no matter where you go in Florida. World record Bonefish records were set in the last couple of years...three in Biscayne Bay and a mess of other records were set in around the waters of Islamorda. Problem with Bonefishing in September is your best hours are just about over by the time the sun comes up,,,the heat is your enemy. April and May are prime months for Bonefishing. If all you want is plenty of action and the species don't matter, make sure to mention that when you book your reservation. Most day trips are 4, 6 or 8 hours. Of course, you can always charter or rent your own boat and gear for the day. |

Some of the best Trout & Salmon fishing in the lower 48 is up your way. Also some of the best off roading is up there too, along with the high desert & tree's & rain. Snow is beer money. ;) Yea,,,well that kind of makes it easier to take, but I'd still rather have my toes in the warm sand.....even when I used to drink, the stuff tasted better under a beach umbrella or palm or coconut tree than it did in the land of ice and snow. |
