What is up with all the skip roar on channel 5 AM?

What is up with all the skip roar on channel 5 AM? From the eastern
U.S. channel 5 AM has a noise roar when skip starts rolling only
equaled by channel 19. It sounds like millions of signals all being
run together. Most of the time there is no single voice above the
roar. The signal strength consistently peaks in the evening around S9
or better suggesting it is coming from the west or south west. Is
channel 5 the trucker channel of some hispanic southern country?

Sorry about the splash. I've been getting lots of airtime lately. I'll
turn my beam the other way. Where you at?
