![]() A quarter of an acre is what a lot of us could only dream about here. If your 369K house was here in the UK i bet it would be a cool 500K, if it was near london you could easily double that. ;o) Look after yourself mate Graham i've mates in cardiff, bude (cornwall), southampton & oldham and the prices they paid aren't THAT bad but still steep. the taxes here are f ing outrageous. cheers. Cardiff is in Wales and is quite a cheap place to live to be honest. and Bude is a holiday resort and oldham is a bit like your bronx ;o) Not sure about Southampton i think its somewhere inbetween. I lived near Swansea a few years back and that was just up the road from Cardiff. The house we bought there was massive in comparison to a lot of UK houses, it had a huge garden and a garage at the top that more resembled a bungalow, with hot and cold running water and inspection pit. It was half the price of houses in Birmingham UK as there arent many skilled jobs there. I know of course it depends where you buy to the prices.... The image also is Americans all live in big houses with well paid jobs and have huge gardens and gas guzzling flash motors whereas we all live in a little house and catch the bus and its always raining I blame Hollywood for that ;o) Regards, Graham |
