Need Phantom Schematic

I have a phantom amplifier on my bench. It has 12 6LQ6 toobs in it. I
would like a schematic for the thing before I get too far into it.
Owner said it went "POP". I could probably give it a go without
schematic, but I don't do this kind of gear very often.

The schematic is here

Typical pop sounds from that amp.

Diode in power supply
Plate choke

Ok, thanks for link.
When my co-worker first gave me unit to check out I thought it was a
homebrew. Kinda ratty inside.

Design looks a little shaky too. I was surprised at low plate voltage
and also so many tubes in parallel.

Schematic references bandswitch. I don't see much in the way of a
bandswitch so I guess maybe that was just some kinda smokescreen for
the benifit of the feecee.

thanks for info

There were different versions of the Phantoms over the years.
Some had twelve tubes. Some had ten. I believe if you have a
twelve tuber it is an early version.

I don't remember seeing the band switch on early versions either, but
I can remember them on the Phantoms of the late seventies.

I had one some time ago, looked homebrew, 12 tubes and no band switch.

Yep, different versions over the years.

Still need the schematic if anybody has a link. I'll get it running
w/o schematic - I hope. but would be nice to have.

I'm sure it's the 'older version' It has a 12AQ5 for the first stage.
Second stage is 4 of them sweep toobs, and third stage is another 8
6LQ6 sweeps.

Yes, looks major homebrew. Three transformers with their secondaries
wired in parallel. They used solid green wire to wire the whole thing
up. One kludge after another, but I'm sure they did the trick as far
as making big signals.

HV relay was stuck. Will have to clean it up or find another.
The KA14DY-110dc relay looks like it might be a tad expensive to
replace. I'll check with the boss and see if he has anything to kludge
in

I just ripped out that hokey preamp. The guy who owns the thing said
all it did was amplify the static anyway.

Thanks for comments and links. Schematic while not being exact will be
of great help.

More later

The 12AQ5 if I remember correctly is for the keying circuit, not for
amplification.

Triple stage refers to three power modes. Four tubes driving eight,
Eight tubes only, or all 12 tubes at once.

Yep,

The 12AQ5 is the keyer. Figured that one out last night. I'm slowly
figureing out this thing a little bit at a time. My first amplifier
repair so gonna take it nice and easy. Looks like the HV relay is the
only prob at this point. My Realistic toob checker doesn't check the
sweep toobs. Probably just as well to leave em alone.
