CPI RANGE Plus Pre-Amplifier for Cb radio are they an good ?. I just
bought one on ebay and am waiting for it to arrive by mail.
Does anyone here have any Spec's or Instructions they can post on the
CPI Range Plus Pre-Amplifier ?.

A preamp works on RECEIVED signals. It won't do a thing for
TRANSMITTED signals. The worse thing that could happen is
you could pop the keying transistor that switches the preamp
out of line when you transmit. (or the detection diode the
drives the keying transistor) You would want to put that
before any amplifier. Expect any preamp to amplify the noise
that you don't want as much as the signals you do want. Some
are so broadbanded that you will overload your receiver and
hear things that aren't there. You could also use it for your
shortwave and VHF-LO on your scanner. If you're close to any
transmitters, it may be unusable to you.

On sideband, unless there is a delay on the relay, it will chatter.
