cross country trip: best channel?

I'll soon be driving across the country, and will be
bringing a CB radio with me. Years ago, the best
channel to montior for road conditions was channel 9.
Is this still true?

Ch 19 if your looking for the bears. It's the truckers channel so be
prepared for a lot of noise and nonsense.
If you come through Missouri jump on Ch 10 and give me a yell when you get
about midway through the state.

Yes, we have been there, we spent a couple of month working up there a
few years ago. BBQ one day, White Castles the next, best 2 months on
the road I ever had.. :-)

Ahhhh! White Castles. You either love them or hate them. We called them
belly bombers in St.Louis.
