Ameritron ALS-500M

Anyone know how the band-switching is accomplished on this unit? Are
they just filtering the input?... to keep the casual user from straying
into illegal airspace?

I believe they switch toroid coils for the different bands, but I only
glanced at it for a few seconds, but here is the link to what you need.
