I have used that several times since there is a 2meter rptr about 2 blocks from both are related in the fact that they each use VOIP to link repeaters over the internet. IRLP requires an actual radio link to the "input" repeater, while EchoLink allows for hams to connect to a repeater using a radio or directly over the internet using the microphone on their computer. I do not consider the use of either system as working "DX", but rather as alternate methods of linking repeaters together, or a different means of remote operation in the case of EchoLink.
