[VK5STU] Frankentenna (ormy mongrel portable antenna)
VK5STU's Blog /////////////////////////////////////////// Frankentenna (ormy mongrel portable antenna) Posted: 21 Feb 2017 01:46 AM PST http://fillmore.com.au/vk5stublog/?p=471 A few people have asked about my somewhat scraggly looking antenna that appears in some videos.Â* This antenna started off as nice commercial end fed used at home, but ended up being used for portable work.Â* Over the years is has suffered as a result of being pull up into trees, getting tangled, being pulled down, thrown in the car etc, and some running repair have been necessary.Â* It looks very haggard, but it works a treat even helping win a contest or two.Â* I made a video to help explain how it is held together and some of the things I have learnt and incorporated into its design. |
