Episode 259: DXpedition Costa Rica and CQWW SSB Contest | Ham Radio

This is our 2019 DXpedition to Costa Rica, and my 3rd time to attend this
trip. We were able to work some great contacts on the CQWW SSB contest this
weekend, and I operated as TI7/KC5HWB.

We also setup a FlexRadio 6400 to a 20M dipole antenna that we left running
at the facility using the FlexRadio Smartlink account that we associated
with that radio, myself and several others will be able to work as TI7
remotely from the USA, on a radio and antenna in Costa Rica. More videos
about this coming soon.

Episode 254: Heil Sound Parametric RX Audio System Demo

The Heil Parametric RX Audio System is an equalizer specifically designed
to pull weak signals out of HF radio. The EQ and powered speaker are sold
as a kit (for now) and are also sold separately, so you can use the PRAS
equalizer with another speaker you might already have. Watch the demo video
for what comes in the box, and how I tune in a weak signal. The audio
quality came through the video feed better than I suspected it would.

This is the first time I have uploaded a video like this, but it is an
excerpt from my 2016 DXpedition to Costa Rica video, which is a much longer
video that I made before I understood that shorter video worked better on
YouTube.

This excerpt is a QRP session that I did with an LNR Precision LD-11
running between 5-7 watts on a 2-element Buddipole for 15M.

WA2DFI, shows us a mock-up of a newly designed radio for Space Weather, and
many other things, dubbed the Tangerine SDR. This modular radio is planning
to be in production by mid-2020, with a working prototype to show at the
2020 Orlando Hamcation. Take a look at this short video and let me know
