CQWW DX contest question

Greetings,

Perhaps someone can clarify this for me? G The rules seem a bit unclear on
points.

"
VI. POINTS:
1. Contacts between stations on different
continents are worth three (3)
points.
2. Contacts between stations on the
same continent but different countries,
one (1) point. Exception: For North
American stations only, contacts
between stations within the North
American boundaries count two (2)
points.
3. Contacts between stations in the
same country are permitted for zone or
country multiplier credit but have zero
(0) point value.
"

I read this to say NA stations can work some guy across town and get 2
points. Right? Otherwise it would state something like :
contacts between stations within the North American boundaties - but
different countries - count two points.

Thanks for the help.

Regards,
Jim - KU5S

Hi Jim,

Point 3 indicates that your QSO across town would be worth zero points.
The reason to work him would be if said station was a new country or
zone. In that case, it would add to your multiplier total. Obviously,
it would add nothing to your QSO points.

I have an easy way to remember. I entered single band 160 one year,
and worked KG6DX, in same country (Guam). No points, but 1 multiplier.
I won for Guam, with a total score of ZERO...... There's a scan of the
certificate he
