Greetings,

Since the current larger sunspot group is making national news, it seemed
like a good time to press this subject.

snip OP's heartfelt discussion of problem, being that Congress
threatens to remove a vital service that they don't understand

Members of the Senate Appropriations Committee are listed on the committee's Web site
http://appropriations.senate.gov/ .

This should also link to Senate and House sites that will
allow you to find and contact your representatives in both chambers.

snip apology for bringing up said important subject

I was moved by the OP, and intend to follow up because I feel
this issue to be worth my time. Apparently others who post here would
much rather argue about the merits of the current Executive branch
administration. I suggest that all followers of this hobby should be
concerned, and further that the program should be defended on its
clear merits.

By all means, talk politics, and decide amongst yourselves, or
at least for yourself which candidate/party (recalling that there
-Are- more than two choices) best supports you, but in the meantime,
see about finding ways to make plain the merits of attention paid to
"space weather".

Be well, and may all for whom you care prosper.
