Question on Worked All States

Hello,

To be elegible for WAS, do the contacts have to have been made from a single
location? I'm
wondering about the person who travels alot, or tours the country in a
motorhome. Seems like
cheating if you make all your contacts while you're travelling *through or
nearby* that state.

Just wondering...

Yes they must be made from a single location. The ARRL web site defines the
exact details. I believe that they define this as being made from within a
50 mile radius. i.e. you can move across town or operate mobile around town
and it's ok. If you move across the state etc, you've got to start over.

From the rules on http://www.arrl.org/awards/was/

"# Contacts must be made from the same location, or from locations no
two of which are more than 50 miles apart which is affirmed by signature
of the applicant on the application. "
