Special event station

Hi all

TM6OLH will be on the air from 5th sept to 19th sept 2004 to commemorate the
Liberation of LE HAVRE (Normandy FRANCE) on 12th september 1994 by the
british troops.

60 years in the past, LE HAVRE was liberate after strong fightings around
"Festung Le Havre" LE HAVRE (fortified town LE HAVRE) . 80% of the City was
destroyed by airplain bombing and 2500 people died on 5th and 6th sept 1944.

The special event station will be active in a british camp reconstitution on
11th of september 2004. We will transmit on HF, phone, CW, SSTV and
Hellschreiber mode. Please, watch 20m and around.

On 12th sept 04, two convoys of old WW2 vehicles will drive in LE HAVRE by
two different routes (North East and East) like in 1944. We expect two tanks,
a Paton and a Churchill armoured vehicles. Photo pictures of this event will
be sent in SSTV the days after.

Thanks for your attention and receive our best regards.

Gilbert RATS F4ASK
Vice-chairman F6KOH, LE HAVRE radio-club
LE HAVRE WIRELESS SOCIETY (Oldest radio-club in FRANCE, founded in 1921)

suivants.

Merci de votre attention

From the war, old man, from the war, only !

The Brits and the Yanks (Headquater officers, of course) decided to destroy
Le Havre with a big carpet bombing.

The german commander of Festung Le Havre asked an evacuation of civilians and
allieds refused.

We know the résult : 2500 civilians died and 30000 people without a roof
above the head, 10 years to rebuild the city... etc.

Don't worry, Peter, the war is over and, I hope, for a very long time.
