FT-8900--How to Remove Remote Front Panel?
 

I am attempting to remove the remote front panel from my FT-8900R, but I
cannot get it off. I press backwards on the releaste latch button, but the
front will not separate. I am afraid I will damage it if I force it with a
screwdriver. Does anyone have any hints on how to get the front off?

Mine come off easily. You have to slide it to the left a bit and then pull
it out.

Looking front on at the radio push the release latch (left hand side) fully back and then slide the whole front panel slightly towards your left hand. That's it, now it will come off. To detach completely carefully release the RJ11 phone type jack.
