Well, I did remove the front panel, and it was relatively easy to get to the PCB that has the switches. These buggers are a paint to work on, however. They're membrane switches. I carefully lifted the clear mylar, and slowly removed each membrane, and cleaned them off individually. I also cleaned the copper pads on the PCB. I'm taking a break from all of that as I type this... I finished putting the rig together. The improvement is noticeable, but not 100% right, there's still some bounces, which are quite annoying. I guess the right thing to do at this point is to replace the membranes. I wonder if Kenwood still supplies these parts? I'll call them and find out... 73, -jav w6vms |

I'd recommend, while you have it open, replacing the wheat grain bulb with one of the ultra-bright LEDs. It should last forever and you'll not have to worry about going back in to replace the bulb. That's my plan for replacement. 73 de Glenn AA5PK |
