I like Qrp & i'm novice. Icom 703 or Yaesu 817 ?
 

Hello to all,
thanks 4 reading. I'm Iz8ffc, in Rome, Italy.
I've to BUY my FIRST radio ! to use in 30% in portable mode, when i'm
out at sea or among mountains and 70% in my rig , at home !
I like these 2 radios, and i'm so in doubt about witch one i've to buy.

80% of my qso are in CW and i need a good receiver. ONLY a good
receiver.
Which one is the best ? Please help me !

I'm not interested at other bands such as VHF or UHF so 817 isn't in my
thoughs...
but several times om from around the world advice me the 817 because is
(in their opinion) the best in rx !

Here there are my question:
1) Is the tuner of 703 useful ? Tune EVERY antenna ? i know that will
not tune wire antenna..but little dipoles, strange antenna ? Or you
advice me to use my LDG z100 AUTOTUNER ?

2) Is the 703 very versatile , portable to use in a field ? Or is it
very complicated ?

3) Maybe i've to buy a 706 and i resolve all my doubts?


The three things because i don't want to buy 817:
1) It has a little display and doesn't have a DSP , and AUTOTUNER.

Mind you that i'm not interested at v and uhf!
