Icom IC-725 off frequency
10 Hz is well within the accuracy and stability specifications.
Stability is the key spec. How much does the radio drift in the first 1 hour of warm up? How do you know the 10 Hz value? How soon after power on is it measured? etc.! wrote: Hi,i have a Icom IC-725 that works fine,,but its about 10HZ off according to the readout ,,,anyone know the pocedure for calibration? monte |

I found an article in my archives from last June, that gave an address for the manuals for both the 725 and the 725A. http://www.icom.co.jp/manual/externa...ers/IC-725.pdf http://www.icom.co.jp/manual/externa...rs/IC-725A.pdf I have not tested the addresses to see if they work. You will be hard pressed to beat 10 Hz, even if the rig has a TCXO. If you have the capability of measuring it, all you need to do is find the adjustment, let the rig warm up a couple of hours, and adjust it. Let the adjustment stabilize a while and check again. Ceramic trimmer capacitors seem to drift slightly immediately after adjustment. Fred K4DII |
