FT-7100M Speech Synthesizer

A blind operator has asked me to post this question. He has an
FT-7100M and wonders if there is anything available that will provide
a speech output to help him use the transceiver. He has an old
Kenwood which has this sort of facility via an add-on board.
Does anyone have any ideas?

There is a group called Handi-Hams which is a resource for all sorts
of info on adaptive technology for hams.

Don't have a URL, but a little Google or a look at ARRL might bring it
up quickly.

As rigs get more computerized, this sort of thing should get easier,
at least in theory.

Happy trails,
