Back into amateur radio after having to sell it all cause of a divorce.
I picked up on Ebay a used Yaesu 757GX. First question is on the display. When the Clarifier is off and in VFO mode, should there be a digit displayed where the channel number would be if memory was selected? Secondly, it wont hold channel memory so it must be the battery is dead. Where would I locate it? Thanks Steve n8nyu |

Thanks Steve n8nyu I believe it is a solder on round flat watch type battery located on a pc board behind the front panel. It should be on the bottom middle area I think. Ed |

If you press the up or down buttons on the mic you will see that it will tune in 10 hz steps as it will take 10 clicks to move th displayed digit. For a manual to download for free on the rig go he http://www.cqham.ru/sch_eng.html and look way down the page past the first listing of Yaesu. |

It is near the upper right corner of the *local unit* board, looking down into the rig with the top cover removed. The owner's manual doesn't address the battery replacement issue, but the FT-757GX Technical Supplement shows its exact location on page 38. You can also refer to page 15 in the Supplement for a visual of the local unit board layout. Pretty easy to replace. 73, Caveat |
