New MFJ-998 Auto Tuner
 

The MFJ-998 IntelliTuner™ has been advertised on the cover of MFJ's
2007 Catalog since late 2006. Orders have been placed at several
major equipment vendors/dealers for several months. Production was
promised in March 2007! But that date has not been met. I am sure
that there are many folks out there that would like to know the latest
information of this new product. Many are waiting to hear how it
works and when they can add it to their systems. Feedback is
requested.

I have the old MFJ "Differential T tuner which has served me well.
Only thing that irritates me a bit is that the roller inductor
is not gear driven. It handles 3 KW power, but slippage with
the belt driver is a nuisance. MFJ had a later version that was
gear driven, but I just accept the slight irritation of my slipping
belt coming up with different readings on the counter dial.
