Which band?

An amateur has the opportunity to purchase or build equipment to operate SSB
on one of the following bands:

2 m
1 1/4 m
70 cm

You may assume that the amateur will have access to a horizontally-polarized
antenna with 15 dBi of gain.

Which band will provide the most operating fun? (I will leave the reader to
his own devices in defining what 'fun' means. Please explain your definition
in any replies.)

2 meters will usually provide the most contacts in many areas. It is
possiable to get some eskip for contacts halfway across the country.

1 1/4 meters has very little activity on it as almost no comercial gear is
on that band in the US.

70 cm has more activity than 1 1/4 meters but long distance contacts are
much harder to come by than 2 meters.

It is no fun to just call cq and not have any contacts.
