TS820 WARC BANDS
Hi Guys (and girls), I have been searching for some time to locate the
article on adding the WARC bands to the 820 but have not been able to find it, anyone got any info regarding this mod. All help greatly appreciated. G8JMK Dave |
The 820 was built before the WARC bands. To modify
an 820 so it covers the WARC bands would require loosing one of the preset bands, ie 40, 20, 15 or 10. What one can do is use the "Fix" position for WARC which, unfortunately, would not give one the ability to move around with the VFO. I have an 820S and from the tech manual this, in my opinion, is the only way to put an 820 on WARC without sacrificing a band switch position. Maybe someone else has an idea on how to do this but at the moment this is all I can provide. 73s Mike "DAVE" wrote in message ... Mike - Feb. 1983 QST featured an extensive mod for putting the 820 on the
WARC bands. I don't recall any of the details any more, but I did the mod on my 820 back in 1983 and it worked very well. The mod to the final tank circuit for the WARC bands was rather difficult to do. There were also a couple of follow-ups to that article, and they're also listed on the ARRL website if you do a QST search for "ts-820 warc". 73, Floyd - K8AC "Michael Waldrop" wrote in message ...
