Dead Icom 751

Hi my name is Ernie,

My Icom 751 is dead , no power output. I checked it with a swr/watt
meter conected to a dummy load and also conected to a swr/watt meter
to an antenna. I replaced the recieve board and got the receive
working great.
This rig was given to me by my best friend and its my first HF rig.
Can you help, also I could really use a schematic.

Thanks Ernie, KC7BYD

Why don't you call Scott Malcolm in Toledo, WA
Probably one of the better technicians in NW USA to work on classic Icom
radios.

Ernie,

Fear not! It is simply a dead battery on the "RAM Unit" memory board.
Icom figured the 10 year battery would be time enough to buy another
new Icom radio. Unfortunately, it is not as simple as replacing the
battery, for the radio is now brain dear. Check this link:

For about 50 bucks it will be as good as new - no, better than new
because it will cover 60 meters, and you don't have to send the radio.
You pop out a small circuit board and mail it to him.

Good luck and 73. Maybe we'll catch you on the air with my 751.
