Brenda Ann December 24th 03 02:56 PM

Christmas Day in the ROK

It's here, or nearly so. Just 28 minutes to go.

I'll be sleeping 'for midnight, but for Santa I'll leave on a light.
For the reindeer I'll leave kimchee out
For Santa nice rice cakes
We haven't got a chimney
So I'll leave the door unlocked
And a note by the tree
Saying "Careful, don't get shocked!"

But seriously.... let us never forget the significance of this day. Beyond
the commercial hype, the naysayers, and the evil wrought by men.. we need to
thank God for sending His son to us, so that we may have our sins washed
away, our souls cleansed.

Even for those who are not of the Christian faith, there is still
significance to be found in this day, as it has become a day of goodwill
toward all men. Try as you might to keep this day, and it's meaning, with
you all year round.

Bless you one and all. Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Joyeux Noel,
Maligayang Pasko, Idah Saidan Wa Sanah Jadidah, Meri Kurisumasu, Mele
Kalikimaka, Boas Festas, ??? ?? (Julguh oon sungtan)

May you all have the best of holidays, and the most prosperous and wonderful
of New Years.

Take care, all, and stay well.

I'm used to this. You diagnose radio troubles fairly well, what's the point?
Why do gay/lesbian/TG/TS folk feel the need to do this? It doesn't make a
damned bit of difference. You're a human. Sexuality is a trivial thing. Gays
and lesbians have the same types of relationship troubles as straights and
I've seen plenty of it where I live. All that is supposed to matter is what
we can do for each other...the rest is baggage.

This is another numb moment in a lousy year. Stick to tubes please.

Merry Christmas to you too, Brenda. The life if Christ is to be
remembered every day. One of my favorite verses is:

John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.

I have a white tees shirt with gold letters that says "John 3:16 says

What a rip off. Parents should know better. Having a birthday at
Christmas time deprives children world wide from getting all the
presents they deserve! I always envied kids with birthdays in June or July.

I used to hate getting socks and underwear from St. Nick. Heck..your
parents OWED you that stuff just because they were parents. Getting them
as gifts was just being short changed.

Parents don't "Owe" you anything more than food on the table, a place
to sleep and decent clothes. They may choose to give gifts, if they can
afford to, but they don't "Owe" them to anyone. If something is "Owed",
it isn't a gift, its an entitlement, like welfare.

Sheesh..talk about taking things too literally. I also said that they
'owed' you things like socks and underwear. Think of it as the cost of
maintenance of said progeny versus the optional gift giving.

I long ago grew weary of the commercialism applied to Christmas.
Every year it becomes harder and harder to fined any evidence of the
true meaning of Christmas. People tell you its our "Duty" to go deeper
into debt to buy horrendous amounts of "gifts". I heard a kid tell his
mother he was going to call the state of Florida's child welfare group
and claim he was abused if she didn't buy him a very expensive toy.

I don't hear any true Christmas music. "White Christmas", "Jingle
bells" and other secular music is not Christmas music. It is simply
politically correct BS trying to mask the fact that Jesus Christ was
born.

Sorry, I don't know of any relatives in Canada. My dad's mother died
when I was little. She was the family historian, going back four or five
generations, so very little of our family history was written down. I
was born in Kentucky, and raised in SW Ohio.

Heh... AMEN to that.... so sad, but true.

There were some really good historical things on the lesser watched channels
tonight about the meaning for the season.
Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, and do take the time to give God
thanks for being in a position to take part in the commercialization of the
holiday in the first place.
If you're interested in the abridged version, here is a quick history of
Christmas from the Christian standpoint. There are others (pagan rituals)
that occur at the same time and sometimes get confused as "Christmas".
http://www2.worldbook.com/features/h...ml/history.htm

And yes, it will do SSB and cover all subspace frequencies.
