Default Alinco DJ-596 vs Aseus VX-6R

HI, I'm a novice doing community service communications backup 2-3 times a year preparing for the next emergency. Which is the better radio for me and why if you don't mind my asking?

Is Li-Ion better for me than NiCad or NiMH?

Would the LI-Ion output of 7.4 v reduce the 5w output power of the HT vs a 9.6 NiCad or NiMH?

Can Li-I remain plugged in to a trickle charge for months?

Thanks for your time

Get battery packs for your radios that take AA Akaline batteries.
Carry extra batteries in your "go bag". Rechargeable batteries are a
liability during emergencies, what if there is no power to charge
them. When a set of the AA's go dead, open the case, put in new ones
and you are back in service in seconds.
