Default HT220 frequency swap

I currently have an HT220 setup to xmit/rcv on 151.xxx. Would like to
use it as a backup radio for police work on 156.xxx. Is it feasable
to convert this old radio or a waste of money? It is suggested I just
buy a new $200-300 radio. I'm sure I could install new crystals, but
is there more required?
