I don't use Hellschreiber, but it certainly works on a small Asus

Nick.

I have a PSK31 autospotter consisting of an Asus PC900A netbook ($200)
running Fldigi; an MFJ-1024 active antenna; and an ICOM R75.

This computer has an 8 gig SSD and is very solidly constructed. I run
Puppy Linux 4.20 operating system.

Just install Wine, then Hellschrieber. I've tried it as I say, but
don't have it installed now, I use Digipan, instead.

You'll have to add it to the applications menu yourself of course, but
that isn't difficult.

I'm using it on the PC701G also with an 8Gb SSD

seek standalone (ie, not a computer-sound-card-based solution)
hellschreiber gear. if it works nicely, might attract official
purchasing in quantity

Have you thought of PSK-31? Take a look at this:

They're a really good bit of kit...Be aware that all the units are hand
built, so may take a while to arrive (Mine took 3 months, but I did
order from the first batch) - I'm not sure what the turn around
currently is, they may have a number of ready built units in stock!

Its software upgradeable, now does RTTY, and I think CW isnt far off,
you can add USB to it, which makes upgrading easier, and it also does
logging..I think its probably best to look at the site for the lowdown..

The only moan I have is the battery compartment, its a bit of a fiddle
to get 2 9v/PP3 batteries in there...but once you've got the knack, its
simple!

Not used mine actually 'in the field' as of yet, but the RX performance
alone is astounding!
