HD Antenna advice?

Hi

Wanting to put up the CHannelmaster HD antenna 8bay

I have heard some about putting two up. Each aiming towards a different
major city to get the best reception for the HD.

Any advice on this? Any reason to or not to or better ideas?

Thanks

In order of preference

1: 2 antennas, 2 transmission lines, switch at receiver

2: 1 antenna, 1 rotor, 1 rotor cable/transmission line, rotor control
set top box

3: 2 antennas, 1 hybrid combiner on pole, 1 transmission line (many
opportunities for phasing weirdness and cancellations, etc.)

Combining two antennas can be rather tricky to do well; you can get
odd cancellation and interference effects. Switching arrangement may
work better.

Alternate approaches a

- Use one antenna (single- or multi-bay) and a remote-controlled
mechanical rotator.

- Use an "electrically steerable" antenna - some of these can be
controlled/steered automatically by some newer digital television
sets, via a control voltage sent up the coax.
