I'm a newbie that recently picked up a well-used Alinco ALR-206T at a local
swap meet. I've cleaned it up and repaired worn out DTMF keypad and now
seems to be working normally.

I was hoping that more experienced hams might give me some history &
comments about this rig - you know - when it was generally sold, typical
problems, etc.

The Alinco website does not make the service manual available - guess it's
too old for that.
