Same reason prices are different at different places on almost
everything. WHATEVER THE MARKET WILL BEAR!

Why is plain salt $1.69 at Kroger and .98 at WalMart?

Why is soda at retail pricing normally 21 cents for 12 ounces at a
store or $2.24 per gallon retail if you look at it that way. But at a
restaurant (who buys it wholesale also, just as the store does) why do
they sell it for over $17.00 per gallon? Any price over 99 cents,
which represents 1000% markup is extortion on soda products!

My experience with the IC-2100H:

Had to replace a failing (25 year old) packet link radio.
Checked eBay, they were selling for $150 - $180 "New In Box".
Checked HRO, AES, etc. on the web.
Prices were $149 - $169 plus shipping.
Drove to Portland HRO, asked about price.
Store owner checked computer, looked at the big
pile of 2100Hs on the shelf, picked up a box, put it
on the counter and said "How about $135?".

Of course I bought some other stuff as well ;-)

The first dealer is based in Canada and the second is in the USA

$599 Canadian = $446 US which isn't too far away from the $380 price that
CHQ are selling at considering (I believe) a generally higher cost of living
in Canada.

The first deny any eplanations, so someone could help me to understand why
Keith sold this antenna at such a price...

Thanks in advance.

Look at the Durham Radio home page - It states clearly (in red yet)

"Please Note: Unless otherwise stated,
all prices are listed in Canadian Funds."

400USD is pretty close to 600Can.

Now wait a minute Dave, what about all those Republican capitalist
infidels and the offshore accounts? That thread was just great! You're
just gonna let it go with this explanation, "please note: (sic) canadian
funds?" You could have thrown in some Rooskie Mafia and islamic
terroids, and all kinds of stuff that would improve the explanation on
why it costs us, the American Taxpayer, more money for them damn Cushcrafts!

Supply and demand - very little need for them here, we do it the natural
way.
