Cable for CT-17
I just bought an ICOM CT-17 to computer control my ICOM 756PROII. The
item didn't come with a serial cable so I hooked up a standard serial cable and I can't get it to work. Does the CT-17 need a null modem cable between it and the computer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Burch |
It's just a standard serial cable. Make sure something is not
grabbing at your com port. Sometimes it is not at all apparent that something is reserving the port. Also make sure you have the baud rate and address set correctly for the radio. Make sure the CT-17 is powered with a 12 volt supply, the CT-17 used Pins 1-8 and 20 on the serial cable. Also the connecting cable to the radio should be a mono connection. I have used a 9 pin to 25 pin cable or a adaptor with my CT-17. Gary K8IZ Washington State Resident Registered Linux User # 312991 |
