ts520s & ts180s

a young man came into my business with these 2 Kenwood units..I don't know
if they work as there are no power cords..
he wants to trade them in on about$150 worth of CB base antenna & coax.
where might I be able to sell them fairly fast.?? they weigh quite a lot.
thank you in advance

First thing I would do is check to make sure there are serial numbers on
them. If there are, it might not be a bad idea to run them through your
local police department (the serial numbers).

As for recovering the money, that should be fairly simple. I would give you
a minimum of $200 for the pair in as is condition, and I'm sure there are
folks who would give more than that.

Heh heh... "they weigh quite a lot." That's right. So you think
you're gonna sell them by the pound?

I'll tell you right now. They aren't worth crap if they don't work.
I'm assuming that you don't have the expertise to test these units out
yourself, or you'd know that a working TS-520 would go anywhere from
$150 and up depending on condition and buyer's desire to own one. I
certainly hope that as a businessman you haven't bought these without
having them looked at by someone with some degree of expertise in this
kind of equipment. If you DID, then I've got a whole box of "working"
radios here I'd like to unload on you!

Check out eBay. There are a lot of rigs for sale 'for parts only' or
'technician special'. You might be surprised what they are worth
non-working.

As someone else pointed out, check out the S/Ns with the police.
