Well, the only comparisons I can make are what's based on
documentation from Kenwoods website as I don't have a THG71.I have no
way of comparing say sensitivity.

Go to Eham.com and look at what the hams are saying about the equipment.

Not sure if that was intended to be directed at me. Ed asked for a
comparison - I told him I can't make a comparison on 2 items when I
only have one.

Something you can't get from documentation is "usability" or ease of use.
Historically, I have found Kenwood to feature a much more user friendly
menu system compared to Yaesu. In part, I was looking for comments in this
regard, as well as other "feel" type opinions that one can't get from
looking at a picture.
