kenwood vfo 230
 
any one know of a place that works on the kenwood vfo 230 this one got
unplug when the reciver was turned on than it wouldn't work agn no
led's lites up fuse is ok and voltage present inside maybe a 5volt reg.
shorted ? it was working perfect before thanks del k9fcm

Try this first:

They don't like to be unplugged. I have found by running the
internal vfo from end to end and programming to the memory then back
into ext a few times will unconfuse it.

When power is lost, the VFO forgets what model it's plugged into.
You can supply 3.5 - 5 v to the memory line with a cordless phone
battery to fix that. A diode across a limit resistor will keep the
battery trickle charged and keep the memory for a day.

If you can't get it to work I can take care of it in California and
do the mod.
